“Shine bright like a diamond” and join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Northeast Texas Community Health Worker Coalition conference. The event happens July 25-26 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center – Tyler. The conference offers Texas Department of State Health Services certified continuing education hours with topics focused on workforce, skill building, relationships, equity, care, networking and collaboration.
All attendees receive a swag bag and T-shirt along with up to five Certified CEUs and up to two non-certified CEUs for both CHWs and CHWIs. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
The Northeast Texas CHW Coalition advocates on behalf of Texas CHW’s and CHW Instructors. Too often this vital role to communities, health systems, public health and education is unknown, overlooked or simply forgotten. The more we can promote the role of a CHW to be recognized and included at educational events, the better equipped Texas CHWs and CHW Instructors will be to utilize and maintain their certification status. This strengthens not only the CHW workforce, but also the communities in which they serve. The mission of the Northeast Texas CHW Coalition is to promote recognition among health professionals and the public value of a CHW and CHW Instructors to connect with other area groups. This mission has become more important than ever with the role of CHWs becoming more viable across the State.
